The above picture caught my attention in a big way. In order to reach our goals, we must first have all of the pieces to the road we must travel. I feel like my road to this goal, weight loss, will be complete once the final piece to my puzzle is put into place. And that piece, surgery, will be set in June.
I have made a list of other goals that I have for myself once I lose weight. Some I will share with you. Today, I’m thinking a lot about my home state, Oregon. So I want to tell you about a goal that will happen there.
Oregon. If you haven’t been there, I encourage you to go. It is one of the most beautiful states that I have been to. From Portland, you are the same distance from Mount Hood as you are from the Pacific Ocean. Both are equally breath taking. But my goal doesn’t involve the beach or the mountains. My goal has to do with this waterfall.
Multnomah Falls is known as the second largest year round waterfall. There are two tiers to it. You can hike a short distance to a bridge where you can look up at the first tier, and down at the second tier. And that trail continues on for a 2.2 mile hike all the way to the top. There, you can walk out onto a deck and look down at the 627′ wondrous gift from Mother Nature.
I’ve hiked this only a few times in my life. The last time being in my early teens. My weight and breathing difficulties have stopped me from making this hike. My husband, being from Indiana, has never been to the top. I want him to have this experience, as well as my children.
I am hoping that when we go to Oregon next, I will be healthy enough to meet this goal. I am really looking forward to sharing this accomplishment with my family.
I LOVE this goal. Multnomah Falls is on my bucket list too – how awesome that you’ve gotten to hike it and have a goal to do it again. I love hiking around Oregon – the whole Pacific Northwest, in fact. Some of my favorite hikes ever were in Vancouver and I think about those forests a lot! I, too, want to go back at a healthier weight and conquer those mountains!

I’m so happy that you are familiar with the area. Most people don’t understand the beauty of the Northwest. There really is not anything like it.
