6 weeks post op

So I hit my first stall. At first, I remained positive that it would pass in no time. But it hasn’t. I have been stalled now for 10 days. At a certain point, you question whether this will actually work for you like it does for others. But, then again, comparison is the devil’s playground.

Also, constipation is real. When you can’t go for more than a week, it hurts. My belly felt so bloated. I started Miralax and took it every day for 4 days with no luck. Then tried Milk of Magnesium. It only helped a tiny tiny bit. I also started taking a stool softener twice per day. Today, it all seems to have finally worked And my belly doesn’t feel as full.

I wonder if my stall has something to do with the constipation??

On Monday, we drive back to Indiana. Which is sad because we’ll be leaving my hubby behind. But, he’ll be flying home on Wednesday so that we can celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary together. We are staying for 2 nights at a place called Serenity Springs in Michigan City. They have cabins that all face water and have a hot tub in each. It’ll be nice to unwind and spend that much needed alone time together.

My name is Jessica Wolfe. I am the wife of an incredible man and father. He and I have been together longer than we have been apart. We have two sons, one is 18 and a freshman at Indiana State University majoring in Music Education. Our 13 year old son is in the 7th grade and is being home schooled. My vertical sleeve gastrectomy surgery was on June 16, 2016. My total gastrectomy was March 3, 2017. I’ve recently found out I have a fairly large benign tumor in my brain. I also have something going on in my lower spine between my L5 and S1. It seems as though surgery is imminent. Through this blog, I share my life with you and am brutally honest with myself so that when I do look back, I can see what it was that made me make the decisions I did. I also welcome opinions and questions as it challenges my thoughts and helps me grow from where I am. If you want to check me out anywhere else, please do! 1. So proud of you Jessica. Losing weight is not easy any way you look at it. Praying you will get past your bump in the road. I have fought constipation for many years. I have taken laxitives for 30 years. I had all symptoms if a heart attack on Monday. Was in the hospital for two nights. No heart damage whatsoever.

  2. So so sorry to hear that you’re experiencing bathroom issues too. 😦 It’s truly the worst side effect. My issues come and go but have found that I have to stay on top of it or it gets bad. Real bad. Real fast. My magic formula as of late is: lots of fluids (more than you think you can drink), 2 stool softeners daily, and then Miralax or Milk of M if it’s been more than 2 days without going. I’m still taking the probiotics too, for good measure. If you find an even more magic-er formula, then do share. 🙂

That said, you are still doing incredibly awesome!!!! What great numbers for 6 weeks!! Woo hoo!!!!!
